Biography

Hi there,

I’m Ila Patricia and welcome to my page! I am an aspiring Pianist and Music/Piano teacher and currently I am on a journey of getting into Music school. I am a Filipino, born and raised in Singapore and now living in Glasgow, Scotland.

The journey is quite a challenge but my passion for Music keeps burning and everything in life always redirects me back to Music, no matter how many times I turn away from it.

I have performed in concerts, hotels, events and recitals – taking up as many performing opportunities I encounter. In 2016, I performed regularly at the Glasgow Marriott Hotel as a soloist and accompanist. I also performed with the Glasgow School’s Senior String Orchestra in the Christmas concerts. Those were my first public performances after I graduated from high school. I have also been asked to perform within the Youth for Christ Scotland community at events and youth camps and also as part of a band and Music Ministry. I have also helped out at Piano Days at the Glasgow City Halls, helping secondary school students with their exam pieces and performing for them as an alumni. I have also performed at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland’s Piano Summer School closing concert.

I go to the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland as a part-time Transitions student. I teach private Piano both at home and at a Music school, teaching students mostly from primary and secondary school, hoping to get more students in the future. I also do work experience in Music classroom teaching, observing different teaching styles in the secondary school setting working alongside my previous Music teachers who were my inspirations.

Besides that, I work part-time at retail to earn some extra cash while I am waiting to get into university and I love long-distance running. I ran two half-marathons last year for MacMillan Cancer Support and UNICEF UK. Hoping to run the Great North Run this year too, still thinking about which charity/organisation to fundraise for, so watch this space. 😉
